When setting up and using your KickAss bridge, you may notice a slight gap in between the tongue and groove of the saddle and bridge. This can cause side to side wobble, especially when the action is set very low (the lower the action, the less down pressure on the saddle).

This gap is intentional. We keep that tolerance loose so that there is no chance it will bind. If the tolerances are too tight, years of playing can result in debris or corrosion that 'freezes' the saddle in place. It is our goal to ensure that never happens.
There is also a variance in plating that can be up to .004" per side. On this part of the bridge, the 4 sides can result in a .016" difference!
If the side to side motion of the saddle is causing performance issues on your bass, we recommend doing one of two things:
- Raising one of the height screws to set the saddle cocked at a slight angle.
- Wedging a small piece of material in between the tongue and groove to lock the saddle in place. You'll want to make sure it can be removed later so you can adjust the bridge of needed.
